Up, Up and Away!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, we've been having good old fashioned fun around here - enjoying the AZ weather!! So, usually ~ once a week, the kiddos & I take our dinner over to the airport across the street (Williams Gateway Airfield) and see what we can see. Usually - there's at least one parked fighter jet and at least a helicopter or two & lots of little commuter planes. Well, this week - we went on Monday because Tim was off. When we got there it was just starting to get dark & I thought - we won't see any action, it's too dark. So, we settled in with our sandwiches and started hearing a loud plane approaching - sure enough, there were 2 USAF jets coming our way!! We watched them land and taxi and park RIGHT in front of us. So we hung out while the pilots were doing logs, etc. When they were walking into the terminal, I told Beauwin to run over to the fence (yes, wearing sister's PINK and VERY snug sweater - how dorky, I know, but it got chilly!) & say "HI". He did and both pilots immediately came over to chat, giving him stickers & talking with us. They were flying in from Amarillo & flying home tomorrow to N. Cali. It was SO fun talking with them - Beauwin told them he was a Blue Angel pilot for Halloween, they responded..."NAVY?!?!?!??! Come on!" Hhaha. Anyway - we thanked them for their service & they went on their way, we went to pack up.

Well, "PT'ing (potty training) Beauwin" had to go potty before we left, so I told Tim I would run him into the terminal & meet he & Sister in the car. We ran in & did our business & on the way out saw one of the pilots packing his bag, so I asked if I could take a quick pic of him & Bear (with my PHONE :( didn't have the camera). He said "sure, let's head out to plane."

Back at the car, Tim is strapping Ireland into her seat & sees one of the pilots walking out onto the runway, followed by 2 people...and realized it was US!!!! So he grabbed Ireland and ran back to the fence. Pilot (I think Capt) Dallon Reese plopped Beauwin right up on the wing of the jet - I thought Beauwin was going to DIE! It was such a true THRILL! And these guys were just so nice to the whole family - that's our military folks - real class acts! So, here are the mediocre pics I took with my phone (we ditched sis's pink sweater) - needless to say, Beauwin wanted to immediately put on his "pilot shirt" (did I mention before that I MADE this costume) and chose that as his outfit for school on Tuesday -
